Every school needs something.
Someone out there has it.
There are more than a million government schools in India. Nearly every one of them needs something — a fan that works, books, a bench, a teacher's time, someone who knows how to fix a roof, someone who simply turns up.
And somewhere there is a person who has exactly that, and would give it gladly, if they only knew which school and what was needed.
We exist to connect the two.
We're not here to catch anyone out.
If you visit a school and record what you find — photographs, notes, what's missing, what's working — that record stands as the honest picture of that school on that date, and anyone may use it. There is a school visit form to fill in when you go, so everyone's notes come back in the same shape — have a look at what it asks. That work matters, and it is welcome.
But a school visit is not the only way to help. Every school gets its own page, and on that page you can offer whatever you actually have: money, an hour, a skill, a contact, a WhatsApp group for the parents, an afternoon with the principal. You need not be anywhere near the school to make a difference to it.

Before anyone can help a school, you have to be able to find it. So the first job is an unglamorous one: get every government school in India into one place, along with what the government's own records claim about it.

Unlock schools
The government's portal makes you solve a small puzzle before it will release the next batch of schools. A computer can't do it. You can, in about five seconds, and each one opens up roughly a hundred and twenty schools.
